A new beginning in Nuremberg

Held in Augsburg for over 30 years, interlift moved to Nuremberg this year due to its growing scale, broad participation, and the need for modern infrastructure. The 50,000 m² exhibition area and 6 separate halls provided an ideal platform for larger demo areas, more product launches, and richer content.

Located just 8 minutes from the city center via metro, the exhibition venue was positively evaluated by participants and visitors for its logistics.

AFAG executives Henning and Thilo Könicke, organizers of the fair, delivered a strong message of transformation, stating, “interlift has now found a new home in Nuremberg. We are shaping the future of the industry here together.”

Global intensity: Visitors from over 100 countries

This year, the event truly became a global gathering. While the highest visitor density came from Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK, China, and Turkey ranked among the top countries.

- Over 90% of visitors rated the fair positively.

- 80% of participants rated their business results at the fair as “good” to “very good.”

VFA-Forum: Knowledge, standards, and future perspectives

One of the strongest components of interlift 2025 was the four-day VFA-Forum. Sessions attended by approximately 2,000 professional listeners addressed key industry topics:

-Digitalization and artificial intelligence

- Predictive maintenance

- European standards and regulations

- Modernization & sustainability

- Global market opportunities

Notable presentations included Kurtuluş Erdem Bayraktar from EKA's assessment of the Turkish elevator sector, presentations by EFESME–ELA–TÜV Süd, and modernization solutions from brands such as Wittur, BRUGG, Hydroware, and Fermator.

Digitalization: Transition to a smart elevator ecosystem

The leading technical trend at the fair was smart maintenance and digital management systems. IoT-based control panels, cloud monitoring solutions, AI-supported control systems, and cybersecurity applications signaled a new phase in the sector's digital transformation.

These innovations demonstrated that elevators are beginning to evolve from mechanical systems to fully integrated digital platforms.

Energy efficiency, sustainability, and design

Green transformation was another important theme at Interlift 2025. Regenerative drives, energy-efficient motors, environmentally friendly lubrication systems, and recyclable cabin materials attracted significant interest.

On the design side, glass cabin surfaces, dynamic LED lighting, quiet operation technologies, and ergonomic interfaces stood out. Schmitt + Sohn's “Colored Light” cabin series and Cibes Lift Group's compact home elevators were among the featured products.

Participant comments:
