AT SEELIFT 2019 SYMPOSIUM, SAFETY AND MODERNIZATION WERE ON THE AGENDA
The event, organized by the Macedonian Association of Elevator Manufacturers (MLA) in cooperation with the Bulgarian Association of Elevator Manufacturers (BLA) and the Croatian Association of Elevator Manufacturers (HUDIZ), lasted three days. During the symposium, 16 presentations were held, and discussions, presentations of products and auxiliary services of the industry took place, as well.
The SEELIFT 2019 symposium covered many topics, including labor safety - safety in elevator construction, safety for users of elevators and escalators, modernization of elevator equipment, examples of best practices in improving the safety of elevators and escalators, European and national standards for elevator and escalator equipment The symposium was attended by experts from the elevator and escalator industry, scientists, representatives of various associations and government agencies, as well as company owners from nine countries. More than 65 participants and speakers of the event represented Northern Macedonia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Turkey, Italy and Spain. The organizers emphasized the need for such symposia to encourage collaboration and support between companies in the region. Such cooperation, based on the exchange of knowledge and experience, allows you to develop business relations in the region as a whole.
Goran Sekowski, Chairman of the Macedonian Association of Elevator Manufacturers and Director General of the Institute of Technical Control and Safety in Northern Macedonia and Skopje, warmly welcomed the participants and thanked them for their decision to participate in the symposium. “It is a great honor for us to see so many participants,” Mr. Secowski said at the opening of the event, where speakers addressed many issues. The main issue discussed during the event was the security issue, which is of great importance both for elevator users and for workers servicing elevators. On the last day of the symposium, participants prepared a joint statement for the governments of Southeast Europe, which urged the need to improve national mechanisms and their effective implementation. The next meeting of the SEELLIFT symposia will take place in September 2020 in Zagreb, Croatia.
