Organized by Tarsus Fuarcılık with the support of AYSAD (Elevator and Escalator Industrialists Association), International Elevator Istanbul exhibited a combination of faster and safer elevator technologies in 8 halls at Tüyap Beylikdüzü Expo Center. The organization was the largest in the region in terms of both square meters, the number of participating companies, and the number of visitors from home and abroad. "We had set our motto this year as 'New world, new opportunities'. Elevator Istanbul 2023 has realized all the achievements promised by this message. Each fair continues to add new visitors, the majority of whom are buyers from different countries, to the portfolio of Elevator Istanbul, which is definitely included in the exhibition agendas of the sector professionals.” said Tarsus Fuarcılık General Manager Zekeriya Aytemur, explaining that they received an intensive application during the fair for the meeting of Elevator Istanbul, where millions of dollars of trade took place, in 2025.

Elevator Istanbul 2023 was followed by elevator assembly, contracting and maintenance companies, elevator component manufacturers and suppliers, contracting and construction companies, apartment managers, building owners, elevator users, project, architecture, engineering and consultancy companies, procurement committees from abroad, certification bodies, NGOs, public institutions, and academicians. At the fair; all vertical transportation technologies from residential and commercial building elevators to hospital elevators, from domestic elevators and personal carriers to automobile elevators, from freight and service elevators to disabled elevators, as well as innovations regarding escalators and roads were exhibited.
Elevator standards suitable for earthquake zones were discussed
The main agenda item of the conference program of the 18th International Elevator Istanbul Fair this year was determined as "SEISMIC ZONE ELEVATORS". In this context, Turkey MAKFED Vice President Sefa Targıt moderated the panel on "Elevators and Buildings Subject to Seismic Situations" and shared information on the following topics; CEN European Standards Committee TC 10 President Esfandiar Gharibaan, CEN Seismic Zone Elevators Committee and Italy UNI/CT 019 President Paolo Tattoli, ITU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Faculty member Prof. Dr. Erdem İmrak and European Elevator Association ELA Component Committee Member Dr. Ferhat Çelik "Elevators serving in earthquake zones, buildings, elevator building relationship, operation of the elevator at the time of the earthquake and its commissioning".
According to the information given by the panel manager Sefa Targıt; At the meeting, where four very valuable experts who took part in the preparation and revision of the TS EN 81 77 Seismic Conditions Elevators standard at the European Union level were speakers, it was discussed whether there was a need for modification in the EN 81-77 standard or the Elevator Operation and Maintenance Regulation or the Elevator Periodic Control Regulation in the light of the data obtained from the examinations made in the regions where the last major earthquakes were experienced. The panel also examined the "Region-Building-Elevator" safety chain and emphasized the importance of engineering discipline within the scope of elevators, which are the union plane of construction and machine technologies.
