EMAY NATIONALIZED ITS ELEVATOR DOORS FROM SOFTWARE TO HARDWARE
Specializing in the field of automatic landing and cabin doors, EMAY Elevator produces around 8 thousand elevator mechanisms per month, and produces 2 to 3 thousand elevator doors according to orders received. The biggest advantage of EMAY Elevator is that it can produce and develop all electronic parts and mechanics within its own structure.
Stating that they applied with their own engineering infrastructure from the simplest plastic parts to the most complex drive, EMAY Automatic Doors Export Director Tayfun Gora stated that they provide services for almost all elevator manufacturers. Stating to have channeled 70 percent of the production capacity to elevator doors Gora has also indicated that they are the only company producing linear motor in sliding door field with advanced engineering infrastructures, and one of the two companies across the world. Stating that they produce doors as standard in widths from 700 millimeters to 1,500 millimeters, Tayfun Gora also said that they can make custom production for requests with larger width.
Developed Turkey's first and only gearless motor automatic door systems
Stating that “We want to become a locomotive in this industry”, Tayfun Gora highlighted that the production is performed on a complete national production basis, while also emphasizing that they participate in exhibitions in Turkey and around the world, both as visitors and exhibitors, Tayfrun Gora: “We have 50,000 tons of steel consumption per year. With a rail system, we produce elevator doors with high strength and 8 tons of point bearing capacity. With a 75-yard gearless engine, we can start automatic doors with one card. We have developed the first and only gearless motorized door system in Turkey and put it on the market. One of our biggest advantages is that the doors we manufacture have compatible and easy installation for all the main practitioners. We also produce radar movement and hand sensors in the automatic doors."
Aimed at the Markets of India and China
In Hasanaga in an area of 6 thousand 500 square meters with the number of workers 75 people, Tayfun Gora said that they produce 40 percent of the products for export. Gora noted that they send elevator gates directly to 42 countries and indirectly to more than 60 countries, that they are in the market of all Balkan countries, along with Eastern and Northern Europe, and they operate a franchising system in all of these countries. Tayfun Gora also noted that they have identified the markets of India and China as the target market, and that they want to grow their capacity in there. "When you produce technology, there is no such thing as a complex market. We strive to use this advantage to bring the technology needed for these countries."
APPLYING THE LEAN MANUFACTURING MODEL
Reminding that as EMAY, they started their industrial journey by giving engineering services to the automotive industry, Tayfun Gora explained that they had gone into this field by noticing over time that there was a gap in the elevator industry. Gora said, “Our engineering infrastructure, production capability showed us that we will be successful in this niche area and we will contribute to the sector with the improvements we make. In addition to elevator doors, we also produce special automatic doors used in many different areas such as markets, hospitals, fuel stations. Since we are of the automotive industry, we apply the lean production model used there. There was also a supplier industry producing for us. Today the doors of the largest elevator manufacturer in Turkey are provided by us. In the elevator industry, it is usually a safe that can be produced and the door is purchased from a different company. The harmony between the door and the case is of vital importance. At this point, our engineering infrastructure stands out at its finest ”
