Exports of complete elevator systems and components reached 162 million 18 thousand 406 dollars in the January-June period of 2024.

Turkey's elevator industry exporters exported 50 million 729 thousand 308 kilograms of elevator systems and components in the January-June period of 2024, achieving a value of 162 million 18 thousand 406 dollars. Turkey's elevator sector exports decreased by 13.7 percent in January-June 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year.

2024 export data for the first half of the year revealed Turkey's export performance and economic growth. According to the general trade system, exports increased by 2.6 percent compared to the January-June period of the previous year and amounted to 126 billion 278 million dollars, while imports decreased by 8.4 percent to 168 billion 869 million dollars.

In the January-June period, foreign trade deficit decreased by 30.5 percent from 61 billion 325 million dollars to 42 billion 591 million dollars. While the ratio of exports to imports was 66.8 percent in the January-June period of 2023, it increased to 74.8 percent in the same period of 2024.

The Turkish elevator industry, which has an important position in the Turkish economy, declined in exports. In the same period of 2023, the total import value of the Turkish elevator sector was 59 million 373 thousand 289 dollars. The elevator sector, which is one of the rare sectors of Turkey's foreign trade surplus, added 110 million 241 thousand 594 dollars of surplus value to the Turkish economy by producing foreign trade surplus again in the January-June period of 2024.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the import value also decreased compared to the same period of the previous year. The total import value, which was 59 million 373 thousand 289 dollars in the January-February period of 2023, was 51 million 776 thousand 812 dollars in the same period of 2024.

The kilogram value of the total imports of the elevator sector in the first 6 months of 2024 was 4.3 dollars.

Exports to the Russian Federation, the most important market among the countries where the Turkish elevator industry exports complete elevator systems, decreased by 35.5 percent in the first 6 months of 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year. - Complete elevator system imports increased

Imports of complete elevator systems in the January-June period of 2024 increased by 8 percent compared to the same period of 2023. While 35 million 815 thousand 510 dollars worth of complete elevator systems were imported in the January-June period of 2023, this figure was 38 million 886 thousand 46 dollars in the same period of 2024. In the first 6 months of 2024, the unit price per kilogram of complete elevator system imported was recorded as 4.35 dollars.
