LIFT AND ELEVATOR INDUSTRY MEETS IN ISTANBUL, NEW WORLD, NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Tarsus Turkey and Turkey Elevator Association AYSAD welcomed a total of 363 companies from Turkey and abroad to the International Elevator Istanbul 2023 fair with the slogan “New world, new opportunities” at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul between 9-12 March 2023.

The world’s leading exhibition of the sector was Asansor Istanbul 2023!

International Asansor Istanbul, which took place for the 18th time this year, exceeded the visitor success in 2022 and maintained its first place in its region, including Europe.

A total of 2.314 professionals visited the fair, which was attended by 6,906 foreign visitors from different continents, including Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, Lebanon, Libya, Kosovo and Kazakhstan, respectively, for four days.

The next meeting of International Asansor Istanbul, which is getting bigger in every fair, will be held on 24 – 27 April 2025.

The organization, where the most up-to-date elevator technologies were exhibited together in 8 halls at Tüyap Beylikdüzü Expo Center, became the largest in its region in terms of total exhibition area, number of exhibitors and visitor figures from domestic and abroad.  Asansör Istanbul 2023, which draws attention with the slogan “New world, new opportunities”, has more than realized all the gains promised by this message.

Programs were made for the meeting of Asansör Istanbul, where millions of dollars of global trade takes place, in 2025 while the fair was still in progress.

Asansör Istanbul 2023, elevator component manufacturers and suppliers, elevator installation, contracting and maintenance companies, contracting and construction companies, apartment managers, building owners, elevator users, project, architecture, engineering and consultancy firms, procurement delegations from abroad, certification bodies,

NGOs, public institutions and academics participated. Fair; Innovations in all vertical transportation technologies and escalators and roads were exhibited, from residential and commercial building elevators to hospital elevators, from domestic elevators and personal carriers to automobile elevators, from freight and service elevators to disabled elevators.

The most important agenda of Asansör Istanbul 2023 this year was “SEISMIC ZONE ELEVATORS”, elevators and elevator standards suitable for earthquake zones were discussed.

In this context, in the panel titled “Elevators and Buildings Subject to Seismic Situations” moderated by Turkey MAKFED Vice President Sefa Targıt; Esfandiar Gharibaan, President of CEN European Standards Committee TC 10, Committee on Seismic Elevators of CEN and Italy UNI/CT 019 President Paolo Tattoli, ITU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Faculty member Prof. Dr. Erdem İMRAK and European Elevator Association ELA Component Committee Member Dr. Ferhat Çelik shared their knowledge on “Elevators serving in earthquake regions, buildings, elevator-building relationship, operation and commissioning of the elevator at the time of the earthquake”.

In the light of the data obtained after the last earthquake, it was discussed whether there is a need for revision in the existing regulations and standards for elevators.

In the meeting where four very valuable experts who have taken part in the preparation and revision of the elevators standard at the European Union level were speakers, in the light of the data obtained from the examinations made in the regions where the last major earthquakes have been experienced, EN 81-77 standard or Elevator Operation and Maintenance Regulation.It was evaluated whether there was a need for modification in the elevator periodic control regulation.

In the panel, within the scope of elevators, the common point of construction and machine technologies, the “Region – Building – Elevator” safety chain was examined and the importance of engineering discipline was emphasized.
