MEHMET ÖZLÜ: WE BELIEVE THAT 2021 SHALL BE MUCH MORE POSITIVE THAN 2020

Mehmet Özlü, Founder of ASP Engineering, Founder started his words as "The year of 2020 has been a period in which the routines in the world were broken due to the pandemic that affected the world." and also stated that the pandemic directly affected the health sector all over the world and negatively affected international trade and production to a great extent.

Özlü, who said that especially imports should be made at the rate of 50 to 60 percent in order to perform export activities in the elevator sector, continued his words as, ‘‘For this reason, the epidemic in the import regions and the epidemic in the market regions adversely affected all exporters. Bilateral meetings could not be held, fairs were postponed, countries applied quarantine to incoming goods, and therefore export volumes did not gain much momentum.’’ Özlü also stated that ASP Engineering Elevator spent this period by focusing on activities targeted at increasing the capacity of automatic door and cabin production and that they moved to their new modern factory established on a 6000 square meters of indoor area and expanded and renewed their machine parks.

"Our efficiency is increasing day by day in the European market "
Özlü stated that Middle East, Africa, Russia, the Balkans and the Near East countries used to be the weighted market for the Turkish elevator sector however, nowadays the efficiency of the sector in the European market is increasing day by day due to the increase in the product quality of the sector and the competitive price.
Özlü said “We have not been able to create a branded worldwide assembly company, but the number of companies that have become an important brand in elevator material production is increasing day by day. " Regarding the assessment of 2020, he stated that 2020 was spent with struggles against the pandemic, restrictions and short endeavors, and for this reason, the life in the world came to a standstill, and that he thought 2021 would be much more positive than 2020.

Concerning the development of exports, Özlü said; “I think that chambers of commerce and industry do not contribute additionally to activities aimed at increasing exports. The chambers of commerce and industry should establish sector export commissions within themselves and they should organize activities for gathering domestic producers and customers in the foreign market. In this way, they shall make a great contribution to the country's economy and for its members.’’
