Ömer Nasuhi Haskul: “Emerging Trends Focus on Energy Efficiency and Composite Materials“
Ömer Nasuhi Haskul, who places energy efficiency at the center of his production strategy, made statements about the innovations and sustainable solutions offered by his company in elevator systems. “Considering our country's dependence on foreign energy, developing energy-saving technologies is one of our main strategies,” Haskul said, detailing the efforts to maximize energy efficiency from product design to production.
Technologies Increasing Energy Efficiency
Stating that they save energy in elevator systems with frequencycontrolled drives, magnet gearless motors and skate technologies that reduce friction, Haskul emphasized that they develop lighter and more durable products by using composite materials. He stated that thanks to the improvements made in the cabin and door group, they reduced production consumption and labor by 8-10%.
Regenerative Energy Systems and Energy Recovery
Haskul stated that regenerative energy systems are used especially in projects procured abroad and that this technology plays an important role in energy savings. "These systems significantly reduce energy costs by amortizing themselves between 3 and 8 years depending on usage,” he said.
Future Vision: Turning Elevators into Power Plants
Emphasizing that they will continue to develop new technologies in the field of energy efficiency in the future, Haskul said that they are focusing on projects that will use the potential of existing elevator systems in energy production. Haskul said,“Elevators can be transformed into a power generation plant by gaining energy from the downward movement of the full cabin and upward movement of the counterweight.” Haskul stated that if this technology is applied in millions of elevators, it will create a great energy source.
Energy Efficiency Certificates and the European Market
Pointing out that energy efficiency standards such as VDI 4707 and ISO 25745 are important in terms of marketing, Haskul said that products with these certificates are preferred in value-added projects, especially in the European market, but that these technologies have not yet reached widely accessible price levels.
Emphasizing the importance of energy efficiency and innovative technologies in the sector, Ömer Nasuhi Haskul said, "Energy efficiency is a critical element for both reducing costs and reducing environmental impacts. Technological innovations in this field will shape the future of the sector.”
