Turkish elevator sector had a foreign trade surplus of 106 million 518 thousand 490 dollars

The figures we compiled from the foreign trade data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) showed that the Turkish elevator sector continued to increase its success momentum in exports. In the January-June period of 2022, the Turkish elevator sector increased its exports by 20.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and carried it to a value of 164 million 378 thousand 608 dollars. In the same period, imports decreased by 37 percent compared to the first 6 months of the previous year and amounted to 57 million 860 thousand 418 dollars. In the first 6 months of 2022, the elevator sector created a value of 106 million 518 thousand 490 dollars with an increase of 58.5 percent in foreign trade surplus compared to the previous period.

In the January-June period of 2022, the Turkish elevator sector increased its exports by 20.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and carried the value of 136 million 46 thousand 331 dollars in the first 6 months of 2021 to 164 million 378 thousand 608 dollars.

The Turkish elevator sector obtained 84 million 216 thousand 832 dollars of the value of 164 million 378 thousand 608 dollars obtained by exporting in the first 6 months of 2022 from package elevator exports and 80 million 161 thousand 776 dollars from the export of parts and parts of elevators.

Package elevator exports increased by 22.5 percent
In the first 6 months of 2022, the elevator sector increased its package elevator exports by 22.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. In the first half of 2021, the sector, which exported a total of 20 million 949 thousand 984 kilograms of package elevators from $ 3.28 per kilogram, increased the price of a kilogram to $ 3.5 with the export of 24 million 78 thousand 630 kilograms of package elevators in the same period of 2022.

Package elevators are most often sent to Russia: In the first 6 months of 2022, the country with the most package elevator exports was the Russian Federation with a value of 12 million 459 thousand 842 dollars. The Russian Federation was followed by Algeria with package elevator exports worth 10 million 298 thousand 979 dollars, Israel with package elevator exports worth 4 million 594 thousand 503 dollars, Iraq with package elevator exports worth 4 million 347 thousand 621 dollars, and Ukraine with package elevator exports worth 3 million 288 thousand 83 dollars. 

The 5 countries with the most package elevator exports accounted for 41.5 percent of the total package elevator exports made in the first 6 months of 2022. 

Package elevator imports decreased by 40 percent
In the elevator sector, in the first 6 months of 2022, package elevator imports decreased by 40 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The sector, which imported package elevators worth 73 million 46 thousand 884 dollars in the first 6 months of 2021, imported 43 million 101 thousand 490 dollars’ worth of package elevators in the same period of 2022. 

The kilogram value of package elevator imports decreased from $ 5.15 to $ 3.99

The kilogram value in component exports was 2.37 dollars 
The sector sold the components it produced in the foreign market more valuable in terms of quantity. In the first half of 2021, the sector, which exported a total of 34 million 408 thousand 432 kilograms of components at 1.95 dollars per kilogram, exported 33 million 766 thousand 293 kilograms of components in the same period of 2022 to 2.37 dollars per kilogram.

Iraq ranked first in component exports
In the first 6 months of 2022, the country with the most component exports was Iraq with 7 million 263 thousand 488 dollars. Iraq was followed by Egypt with component exports worth 6 million 65 thousand 317 dollars, Iran with component exports worth 4 million 697 thousand 545 dollars, Algeria with component exports worth 4 million 498 thousand 292 dollars, and Morocco with component exports worth 3 million 277 thousand 160 dollars. 

The top 5 countries with the most component exports received approximately 32 percent of the total component exports in the first 6 months of 2022. 

Component imports decreased by 21.8 percent
In the elevator sector, component imports in the first 6 months of 2022 decreased by 21.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and decreased to 14 million 758 thousand 928 dollars. This figure was worth 18 million 885 thousand 816 dollars in the first 6 months of 2021.  

The value of a kilogram in component imports is 4 dollars 
In the Turkish elevator sector, the kilogram value in the first 6 months of 2022 in component imports was 4 dollars. The sector, which imports a total of 3 million 638 thousand 347 kilograms of components, paid $ 4.47 for the kilogram of 4 million 220 thousand 357 kilograms of components in the same period of 2021.
